Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide, also known as "laughing gas," is one of the most well-known forms of sedation, and it's ideal for patients with mild to moderate feelings of anxiety or discomfort. At Woodmere Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, we'll administer the gas through a mask that fits over the nose. Within a few minutes, patients begin to fall into a deeply relaxed, almost euphoric state. The effects wear off quickly after the mask is removed, allowing most patients to drive themselves home after their appointment.
